Westphal Faculty Shows Off
April 20, 2011
The College is enormously proud of its talented faculty of artists and designers and this talent is abundantly on display in a major exhibition of faculty work now up through May 27th at the new Pearlstein Gallery at 3401 (3401 Filbert St.). An opening reception will be held tonight, Wednesday, April 20th at 6 PM in the gallery.
Taking over 10,000 square feet of raw exhibition space, the inter-disciplinary exhibition showcases over 60 artists and 120 different works of art. Faculty from every department in the college is represented. In addition to painting, sculpture and site specific installations, the exhibition includes digital projects, applied design arts, architectural plans, fashion and performance. Among the 120 works of art on display, visitors can see palladium prints by Andrea Modica; fractal paintings by Bruce Pollock; site-specific installations by Ted Artz and Sue White; Jack Cliggett's fine art and woodworking, impressive paintings and drawings from Mark Stockton, Sarah Steinwachs, Anda Dubinskis and Joshua Weiss; sculpture from Orlando Pelliccia; Blaise Tobia's painterly photographs; fashionable and sustainable designs by Lisa Hayes and Cynthia Golembuski and so much more. Ask any Westphal student and they'll tell you that we have a faculty of gifted and committed teachers. Now, we hope you'll come out and see how tremendously talented these very same teachers are as artists.
